Thoma Ryse lives and works in Brittany – France
Where does Thoma Ryse’s artistic individuality begin and end? Man appears “one and many”, painter and sculptor, oriental and occidental and difficult to grow in a single frame. There is an undeniable generosity in him that is expressed in the choice of the colour evoking “fauves” in the blink of an eye; a flexibility in the drawing where we would think of Matisse sometimes as a brief tribute, in a circulation of natural forms that leads us to the process of life; a biomorphism such as the theories of life reveal it to us at the microscopic level or that cosmology lets us imagine on the ground of the infinitely great. Most often, when the gaze finishes scrutinizing the work, we discover other surprises and unforeseen ones, for example the infinite renewal of the sculpted and painted forms.
